About this experience
A guided visit to the largest mosque in the UAE, in Abu Dhabi, with hotel pickup from Dubai. The building holds eighty-two domes, the largest hand-knotted carpet in the world and seven Swarovski chandeliers, and the main prayer hall takes forty thousand people. A guide is the difference between photographing it and understanding what you are looking at, including the calligraphy and the reflective pools that mirror the facade. Dress code is strict and applies to everyone: shoulders, arms and legs covered, and tattoos covered too. Women need a head covering and an abaya is provided at the entrance. No clothing is provided for men, so dress before pickup. Eight hours door to door, most of which is the drive each way.
