About this experience
A tandem jump from 13,000 feet over Palm Jumeirah, strapped to an instructor who has done it thousands of times. You arrive at the drop zone on the Palm and the first part is paperwork and a briefing. Nothing about the jump is a surprise by the time you are in the aircraft: you are shown the exit position, the free-fall position and the landing position on the ground first. The climb takes about twenty minutes. Free-fall is roughly sixty seconds, which is long enough to stop panicking and start looking, and the canopy ride down is another five or six minutes over the fronds of the Palm with the Marina skyline behind it. Allow three to four hours in total. Most of that is waiting for your slot and for the weather window, because jumps are grouped and the wind decides the order. Bring sunglasses and wear trainers rather than sandals. Equipment, your instructor and the briefing are all in the price.
