About this experience
A sunrise flight about 1,200 metres above the Dubai desert, which means a very early start and a morning nobody in the group forgets. We collect you from your hotel between 04:00 and 04:30 and drive out to the launch site in the dark. You watch the envelope being laid out and inflated, which takes about half an hour and is worth being awake for. The flight is around forty-five minutes. You lift off just before first light and the desert goes from grey to orange underneath you while you are in the air. There is no sensation of speed in a balloon and nothing to hold on to, which surprises most first-timers. After landing there is a falconry display, then breakfast, then the drive back. You are usually at your hotel around five hours after pickup. Balloons fly on the weather and nothing else. If the wind is wrong the flight is moved rather than run, so leave a spare morning in your trip rather than booking this for the day you fly home. A flight certificate is included.
