About this experience
Twelve minutes in the air from the Palm heliport, which is the shortest of the Dubai helicopter routes and the one that covers the landmarks people actually came to see. You check in at the heliport thirty minutes before the slot. There is a safety briefing and a weigh-in, because seating is arranged by weight for balance. The route takes you out over Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis, past the Burj Al Arab, along the coast towards the World Islands, and back with the Burj Khalifa and Downtown on the skyline. Every passenger is at a window and you are given headphones with commentary, so you know what you are looking at rather than guessing. Twelve minutes sounds short and is not. The city is dense enough from the air that the route is continuous, and the photographs are better in the first half when the light is still coming off the water. Hotel transfers are not included.
